PDF or Word (DOCX), also TXT. Up to 10 MB.

Compare with a job posting (optional)

Paste the posting to see which of its skills and languages your CV names.

Your CV is read for this check only and is not stored.

What the check looks at

  • Whether the file has text that software can read, or only a picture of a page.
  • Whether your sections have the headings software looks for, such as Experience, Education and Skills.
  • Whether your email address and telephone number are in the text.
  • Whether each role's dates can be read.
  • How many words your CV has.
  • With a posting: which of its skills and languages your CV names.

The check uses fixed rules and no AI. It is not an employer's own software and does not tell whether you will be invited or hired.

Questions

What is an ATS?
An applicant tracking system: the software employers use to collect applications and search them. It works with the text of your CV, and text it cannot read, it cannot find.
What makes a CV ATS-friendly?
Text saved from a word processor rather than a scan, plain section headings, your contact details on the page itself, dates in one format, and the posting's own words where they are true for you.
Is my CV stored?
No. It is read for this check and then discarded. Only the number of checks from one network is counted, to stop misuse.
